THIAGO MOTTA: “DIFFICULT MATCH AS ALWAYS. THE BEST ON THE PITCH TO TRY TO WIN”

Coach Thiago Motta spoke in the press conference on the eve of tomorrow night's match against Sampdoria at the 'Ferraris' stadium: "Last week's victory has allowed us to work with more serenity, but we continue to prepare in the same way, concentrating on mistakes and focusing on the next match.

Tomorrow Bastoni will be with us, but unfortunately, we won't have any injured players returning, so we'll be the same as last time. I can't say for sure when they will be back, it will depend on their individual recovery, some of them are recovering faster than others, we will see when they can return to the group.

The most difficult and important game will be the next one. And after the match against Sampdoria, it will be the one against Genoa. We've been preparing for this match all week and we'll try to put in a good performance and bring home the three points.

Sampdoria is a great team, with experienced players and a great coach. Tomorrow will be a very difficult game and we're aware of the opponent we'll face. We have to face them as we know: playing as a team, trying to defend, recover the ball, and attack together.

Our next step? To improve in every aspect and face the games with the same attitude we've shown so far.

We are the youngest team in the league, it's true, but that doesn't matter, probably if it was the other way around, we would be talking about a lack of freshness and not experience. There are many factors that you can't control, what I can say with certainty is that tomorrow the best players will take the field to bring home a great performance.

Excited to return to the Ferraris? Of course, I have a lot of respect for Sampdoria and I think they have the same respect for me, it's a relationship that has been built up over the years, but tomorrow is a game that counts as much as any other and we'll both be fighting for the win.

The fans are a very important part of our team. The embrace after Salernitana was spontaneous, natural. My work and that of the boys is also dedicated to them, we need their support and to feel them close to us, and I hope we can make them proud to cheer our team."
