RUDIGER TO HAVE SURGERY ON SATURDAY
Antonio Rudiger will undergo surgery on Saturday after an MRI scan on Friday confirmed that the German defender has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
Rudiger – who joined Roma on loan in summer 2015 and was signed permanently on 30 May – sustained the injury on Tuesday, during Germany’s first training session in France ahead of the impending European Championships. A prognosis for the Giallorossi defender’s recovery will be established after tomorrow’s operation.
Below is the Roma medical staff report: “Antonio Rudiger has today undergone an MRI scan which confirmed the rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament. His prognosis will be determined after he undergoes surgery tomorrow.”
