TONIGHT ROMA-SIVIGLIA
Giallorossi captain Francesco Totti is ready for Roma-Siviglia and has issued a rallying cry to the Roma faithful to come to the stadium to “make the new arrivals fall in love with this city and this club”.
The Giallorossi’s first run-out in front of the Stadio Olimpico fans this season, the club’s legendary No.10 was keen to whip up enthusiasm for the new season:
“A new season is almost upon us. We have brought in players that will help us to rise to the challenge on the pitch and improve on what we’ve achieved in recent years. We’ve faced some massive clubs over the summer, and I’d like to thank the clubs that have welcomed us, the fans that have supported us and the footballers I have tested myself against – especially Lionel Messi. My wish is for all of the players who go on to wear the Roma No. 10 jersey to be able to swap it with a great player like Messi. Everyone should have that chance. The No. 10 shirt is my second skin, but all should have the possibility to pursue that dream, wear that shirt and above all to honor it and scale the heights of the sport in it. We begin again, all together, for our Roma: Let’s make the new arrivals fall in love with our city and our club, especially the youngest players.”
