THIAGO MOTTA: "PRECIOUS POINTS ARE AT STAKE IN EVERY MATCH: IT WILL BE UP TO US TO GIVE OUR BEST"
Thiago Motta's words ahead of the match against Napoli that will close the first half of the season for the Eagles:
"What I liked about the match against Empoli is the fact that even in the moments when we suffered the most we remained united and played as a team. We mustn't forget that Empoli is very fit at the moment, so it certainly wasn't an easy match. Certainly, in the first half, we could have stayed higher, been more courageous, and taken better advantage of the possession of the ball, but in the end, a precious point came.
I expect the best Napoli, it's true that there are many important players who won't be on the pitch, but there are just as many great players who, when they come in, manage to keep the level of the team high. We will play our game, it will be a great challenge to play against a team that has been built and is fighting for the top of the table.
It's great to play games like this, the Maradona Stadium will be full of fans and we'll have to be able to handle the emotions. When you talk about a team there are many aspects to analyze, and I think the mental factor is very important; it's an important moment for us, the first part of the season ends with a fascinating and difficult challenge, we'll try to give our best and do our best.
The championship is still long and anything can happen. In the past years, we have seen teams start very well and then fail to reach even the Europa League and others start with a lot of difficulties and then save easily.
