SPALLETTI: "WE ARE NOT HAPPY AT ROMA UNLESS WE'RE WINNING"

Luciano Spalletti believes Roma's winning mentality could see them go the full distance in the title race this season. Speaking at a charity dinner on Monday evening, the Giallorossi boss reiterated his optimistic outlook following recent improvement shown by his side:

"We're not happy at Roma unless we're winning our matches," Spalletti began. "We're not happy at Roma unless we're trying to claim everything that comes our way. I think the team has grown a lot. My players are very careful. They're looking in the right direction and doing it the right way."

The charity dinner was held in memory of two young Juventus players, Riccardo Neri and Alessio Ferramosca, who died in tragic circumstances at the Vinovo training centre ten years ago and the coach also offered his thoughts on the current Bianconeri side.

“Juventus are a great team with lots of experience and lots of players. It won't be easy to keep up with them but we'll give it everything we've got.”

Are you thinking of extending your contract with Roma?
“It's the Roma players who are holding the pen for my contract and especially those I've given less playing time to. I have to work well with all my players, including those who get to pull on the Giallorossi jersey more often in training.”
