“I’m happy for the approach and mentality that my team showed in this match”. Maurizio Sarri saw his team competitive since the beginning of the last 16 of the Italian Cup that get the Azzurri promoted for the quarter finals after ahving beaten Verona.
“I told my guys and we were all aware that the qualification was really important. I relished their concentration and their willingness they promptly displayed since the starting of the game. Next I appreciated their committements and the result is a positive sign”.
“After this match we recorded 16 wins out of 23 matches and I daresay that is an excellent result. We are trying to improve some mistakes and I know the team has to grow more. We are also trying to create less pretictable strategy in order to exploit all our qualities”.
“I heard saying that if Higuain doesn’t score Napoli will struggle to convert but it is clear that this is not the truth. Next if we consider that we scored 34 home goals, there is someone who wants to deny data”.
What about the choice of Higuain as a regular player tonight: “Gonzalo asked me to play because he really wanted to take part to this match. I decided to satisfy his request even because I wanted to give an important sign calling-up the best players. Mertens pulled off a superb performance. Tonight we wanted ro win and we managed to obtain our goal”.
