RICCIO: "WE WON WITH STRENGHT AND TECHNICAL ABILITY"
Napoli's “strength and technical ability” saw them come out on top against Sampdoria, says Luigi Riccio.
Speaking after the 4-2 win in Genoa, Gennaro Gattuso's number two observed: “We made a really good start to the game – we were set up well and looking good."
“We went 2-0 up but then Quagliarella got them back in the game with a fantastic goal – that shifted the balance somewhat because before then we were in control.
“We knew it wasn't going to be easy against Samp and we found it hard when they came back at us. But after they equalised we did really well to grab hold of the game again and move the ball around well.
"We have a great squad with top-quality players but we need to be capable of gritting our teeth when the match turns into a battle. We managed to do that today.
"The league table looks a bit better now but we can't be thinking about all the permutations. We must keep working hard as we have been these last two months and focus on nothing but our next game against Lecce.”
