POZZO: "I DON'T WANT ANOTHER SEASON LIKE THIS"

Achieving salvation has been a relief for Gianpaolo Pozzo. Here's what Udinese owner said on Udinese TV's show Udinese Tonight:

"This season has been torture, when something unexpected happens and you find yourself in such a bad situation of course you get worried. Yesterday we got out of this situation at last. I'm disappointed with this year because we had made many sacrifices from an organizational point of view. I modestly believe we're a little jewel in our own little way and we thought we deserved a better position. Now we must turn the page, I don't want another season like this: we've been in the top league for 22 years, we've got to stay in it. Our first goal has always to be to avoid relegation as soon as possible, but that's not the objective. We have to try to take more points and climb the table as high as we can. Many mistakes have been made, but the club has spent a lot, it has been well organised, there's been the stadium… I'm mad at myself but let's try to look forwards, we have a sound basis which are the fans".

The fans are the most praised by Gianpaolo Pozzo: "The new stadium has given us a hand because it seems we've had more support from the fans and that is a sound basis. We will make sure to improve also from this point of view. We want to become a club which can fight for something more important than what our status of little team allows us to. The fans are our greatest asset. Luckily we've been able to stay in the Serie A TIM, perhaps we thought it was automatic: we'll roll up our sleeves and try not to commit the same mistakes anymore".

Finally he spoke about Di Natale, who will be the protagonist of match with Carpi, the last one of the Bianconeri skipper's history at Udinese: "It has certainly been a great pleasure to have a player such as Totò. Di Natale has been the best player we've ever had at Udinese, I don't think we've had someone better than him. He deserves to be celebrated, let's see how, and also remembered forever for what he's done. We've had many great players but a forward is easier to remember, he's entertained us a lot. We'll have to be really lucky to find someone like him".
