NAPOLI ANNOUNCE KARNEZIS SIGNING

SSC Napoli announce the outright purchase of goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis from Udinese. 

Orestis Karnezis was born in Athens on 11 July 1985. 
 
The Greek goalkeeper, who came up through the youth ranks of Ofi Crete, before making the step up to professional football with Panathinaikos, playing there from 2008 to 2013. He was then picked up by Udinese, where he played three seasons from 2014 to 2017, after a brief stint with Granada in Spain. Most recently he played last season in the Premier League, with Watford.
 
Karnezis can boast 108 appearances in Serie A, 46 in the Greek Super League, six in La Liga and 15 in the English Premier League. On top of that he has ten appearances in European cup competitions to his name: six in the Europa League, and four in Champions League qualification rounds.
In addition to a single U17 cap and one with the Under 19s, Karnezis has made three Under 21 international appearances, and 49, including four in the 2014 World Cup, for the senior Greek national team, with the last coming on 23 March against Switzerland.
