MONTELLA: "LET'S PICK UP FROM THE SECOND HALF"
Vincenzo Montella spoke to the press in the post match press conference before being interiewed by Milan TV. The coach touched on the team's performance praising their second half.
THE MATCH
"They overwhelmed us in the first half. They alwasy played one-on-one. They found the lead from a throw.in where we should ave been more careful. The first half was really not positive for us. In the second period we played at ahigher tempo, and even in 10 men, the team reacted and went close to levelling the match. But, being one man down, we lacked the energy to stop their counterattacks and in the end they scored another two goals. We are not happy, but I am pleased with the team's spirit".
PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECT
"To play with rapture you have to be read y psychologically. At first we weren't but then when we were one man down things changed. They did well to play exaclty like they wanted to".
POSITIVE ASPECTS
"The team did not underestimate the opponent. I liked the team's reaction and their will to level the game until the last minute. We should never lose this spirit. We played very well in the second half. We mustn't listen to what people and the press have to say, we must concentrate on ourseleves and work with a light spirit".

"He played well, but so did his teammates".

"I chose Honda and Poli because I needed fast players on the wings, were Genoa are very strong".
NEXT MATCH
"I will talk to the team, like I always do. Tonight's match was just a bump in the road, it must not weaken our self confidence, we must keep working. Sometimes these defeats can do you good".
