MONTELLA: "HAPPY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE PLAYED LESS"

After the 2-1 win over Sinisa Mihajlovic’s Torino, coach Montella was interviewed by Milan TV. These were his words.

THE MATCH
"We played against tough opponents, who put us under pressure especially in the first half where we were not fast enough, while in the second half our mentality changed and our qualities stood out. This team always has to keep concentrated without losing focus. In the next round, we will face Juventus, but we still have hunger for more wins".

INDIVIDUALS
"I am pleased with the performance of those who have played less. Sosa, for instance, played a great game in a role which isn’t his, showing great personality. Also Gomez did really well. Bonaventura can play both in midfield and up front, always with great results. I want to field the most players possible. There are not many who haven’t played a lot, but one of these is Poli who always gives 100%".

IMPROVEMENT
"The team is improving in controlling the game. We manage to put our opponents under pressure and play more up the field. My philosophy is the same that my former manager Fabio Capello had. In his opinion, the strongest teams are those who win with a one goal difference".

THE FANS
"I am happy the fans are enthusiastic. I can feel they are backing us and this makes me happy".

SINISA AND THE REMATCH
"With Sinisa we have faced each other a few times now, with the games ending in draws most of the times. We will both watch this match on video and will see the mistakes we made so we won’t make them Monday".
