MILAN: GATTUSO POST-MATCH PRESS CONFERENCE
Gennaro Gattuso analyzed in the p,ost-match press conference, the Europa League group stage match between Milan and Real Betis 1-2.
"I train a great club and it is right for me to take responsibility, I'm always at the forefront. I am always committed: I have to understand who has the right mentality. In some moments we applied nothing which we had prepared. We think too much about what could happen and think of just doing our little homework, there is too much fear of making mistakes, we unblocked mentally only after the goal. Often we tend to forget that our mentality is an important component, not just the physical aspect".
About the Rossoneri performance Gattuso said: "It's not a question of formations: the team has lost its identity, for the past two games I have not seen the inside midfielders cutting through. We are wrongly doing what we did well and which also distinguished us in recent months. This performance baffles me, there is great disappointment, probably my staff and I were not clear enough, otherwise, we can not explain this performance: the defeat does not hurt as much as the performance, for how we played and held ourselves on the pitch.
