Mertens: "Saturday is key to head to Barcelona at the top of our game"
Dries Mertens spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss about the upcoming clash with Lazio and the fascinating second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie with Barcelona: "We have a key game coming up on Saturday that will prepare us for Barcelona.
"First, we have the match on Saturday, which we're fully focused on in a bid to end our league season on a high against a very good side.
"We have to be confident and ready for the Champions League game because anything could happen. The boss is preparing us well and we're convinced that we'll be able to fully express ourselves.
"We're confident and also have a strong desire to play. I think these are the sorts of challenges that you always want to be out on the pitch for and the type you dream of when you start out as a footballer.
In terms of his new contract, the forward said: "I waited for the right time and I'm thrilled that my future lies in Naples. It's a beautiful city which I've spoken about so much and have learnt to love during my years here.
"My immediate future, however, revolves around the game on Saturday and then the match in Spain. We'll go for it knowing that we'll give our all."
