MAICON MEDICAL UPDATE
Roma coach Rudi Garcia was today handed a timely boost ahead of the start of the new Serie A season with the news that the injury suffered by Maicon in training earlier this week isn’t serious.
The defender pulled up in training on Monday with a thigh strain but medical tests today revealed that the Brazilian hasn’t suffered a serious injury.
The 34-year-old has featured in every one of the club’s pre-season games this summer and completed 74 minutes of the team’s 6-4 victory over Sevilla FC at the Olimpico on Friday. Maicon, who last season made 14 Serie A appearances and scored one goal, will now continue with the personalized fitness program he has been following since Tuesday as the team gets set for their weekend trip to Verona.
