Manuel Locatelli, who was just called up with the National team for the stage from 21st to 23rd November, was interviewed by Milan TV and spoke about his feelings for what will be his first derby with the Senior Team.
DERBY
"It will be great to play it. I must prepare for it like every other match and keep calm".
SAN SIRO
“It's really fantastic, is the stadium of my dreams. It’s always a great feeling to play there. I think that having the boarding school close to San Siro is a boost for the youngsters, because they can see with their own eyes where they could be playing in the future".
YOUNG FANS
"The younger fans ask to take a picture with me and to give them some advice. I try to help them and talk to them".
ABOUT INTER
"They are tough opponents because they have a new manager, therefore we don’t know whether to analyse their last matches or the ones played by Pioli’s teams. We don’t know if his style of play has changed and if Inter will play like Lazio did, but we have to keep calm and play our game. Inter will give everything they’ve got, they are not in an easy situation. We will be ready for this match".
WHO TO WATCH OUT FOR
"If I could remove a player from Inter’s squad I would say Icardi: he is strong and finds the net with great ease ".
MIDFIELD DUELS
"Inter have strong midfielders such as Joao Mario and Banega, but we also have strong players such as Kucka and Bonaventura in midfield. It will be an even contest".
YOUTH SECTOR DERBY
"I think it’s something different, but it’s always a great feeling. In the past, I already scored in a derby, and I hope it will happen again. You look forward to playing this match from the beginning of the season and you are playing it against the other Milan team. You are really motivated to win this game".
THE WAITING
"When I set foot in San Siro I still do not exactly realise what’s going on. It’s something really incredible not easy to describe. During the trip to the stadium my thoughts always go to my family, when I used to play with my brother and sister: it was for fun back then and it is the same now. Music? I like listening to music, especially “Mentre nasce l’aurora” by Briga".
GOAL CELEBRATION
"I run like a fool because I don’t know how else to celebrate. This is me, spontaneous: against Juve I slid on my knees otherwise I would have kept running. I saw the fans jumping up and down with joy, they were shouting, it was something unbelievable. I hope to have another special night like that one".
MONTELLA
"He is a very good manager and knows how to prepare for matches like this. He gives us the right motivation and keeps us focused. In any case, these sort of matches prepare themselves, we know how to play them".
DONNARUMMA
"With Gigio we always joke around, and it has to be like this. But when the match is close we only focus on the game".
