GATTUSO: "THE JUVENTUS GAME HAS COME AT THE RIGHT TIME"
It's the day ahead of a big match and one which comes during a difficult moment. After the final training session and the squad announcement, it was time for Gennaro Gattuso's press conference at Milanello ahead of Juventus v AC Milan. Kick-off is at 18:00 CET on Saturday 6 April.
On the current period: "After the derby, something has stuttered and we've not been able to shine. We have to put that game behind us though even if I understand that it was the most important in recent years. We can't win games at the moment but we have to be able to understand why. We're a bit lost at the moment on a physical and mental level. The Juventus match has come at the right time though because a positive result would push us on mentally."
On playing with two strikers: "We were playing against Udinese, a game that allowed us to play in that way. We were unlucky with Paquetá's injury, especially with when it came in the game, at a point when things were starting to take shape for the team."
On the match: "Juventus are a team who have already won the league and they've only lost one game which was two weeks ago. They have the mentality, they know who to respond to pressure and how to keep a high tempo. They're really strong, but we have everything required to play a great game. We'll need a great performance tomorrow to bring home the three points, a great performance in terms of tactics, character and desire. We can do it, a positive result could be a real turning point. We need something to happen to bring us back to life."
On individuals: "Kessie trained with the group, Romagnoli had a bit of a fever but he's recovered. Conti will come back next week, as will Gigio. For Paquetá, it's a different story and he'll need 20 days more or a less, a month."
On the Champions League race: "It's all wide open. There are certain teams who are struggling with Atalanta the exception who are showing consistency in their results. But, if I look at the table I can see that we're still fourth and we can't give up."
