UEFA Europa League

GATTUSO: "IMPORTANT GAME, QUALIFICATION AT STAKE"

The Rossoneri coach, Gennaro Gattuso, spoke in the pre-match press conference before the Europa League group stage match between Real Betis and Milan.

The coach spoke about the injuries: "This can't be an excuse, I will field the best starting XI. Real Betis might change something at a tactical level but not their style of play. We need to play a brave game and play our football. We are improving in character though probably playing with less quality. Those who hadn't played much have done well when they've had their chance. It's easier for a coach to have such a great group".

Gattuso gave an injury update about some Rossoneri: "Biglia and Caldara will be out for a long time. Calabria is improving. Higuain is not at this best but we hope he can make it for Sunday's game with Juve, while Jack Bonaventura is ruled out. He's still in pain and needs more time".

He spoke also about Patrick Cutrone: "He has improved a lot in the past months. He has great desire. To have a great career he needs to improve when he's not the star".

About today's game, Gattuso said: "It's not that we need to bounce back. We played a poor game at the San Siro but we didn't underestimate them. There's a lot at stake tomorrow but this group is well aware of this. We want to play a different game from the one we played in Milan".
