ELEVEN SPORTS SECURES LIVE RIGHTS TO SERIE A TIM IN ITALY

London, UK, 25 September 2017: Global sports provider ELEVEN SPORTS has secured LIVE rights to Serie A TIM in Italy.

The platform will show three games LIVE every match week on mobile, tablet and online as part of a pay offer for fans across the country. The partnership begins on 1 October with Napoli-Cagliari, Benevento-Inter and Milan-Roma and the action will be supplemented by in-depth, pre and post-match analysis from former players, football experts and journalists.

The live games will typically include the 6pm Saturday match and the games at 12:30pm and 3pm on a Sunday – ensuring there will be a spread of premium matches featuring the biggest stars from the league’s top clubs.

The matches will be priced aggressively providing fantastic value for fans with individual games available for €1.99 or all three matches available for €3.99.

The acquisition of Serie A matches in Italy builds on Sportube’s success in the market which has steadily grown through the production and delivery of all Serie C games through a dedicated online platform, ensuring fans can follow every one of their favourite team’s matches.

This ground-breaking offer was made possible by the implementation of innovative technical infrastructure that enabled Sportube to cut production costs exponentially while keeping up a high-quality service. During the 2016/17 season, Sportube produced and distributed 1,287 Serie C games creating national interest in a championship that had previously only been distributed locally.

“Our model of acquiring smaller rights with economically viable production costs and widespread appeal amongst domestic fans in Italy has proved very successful and we are thrilled to take our coverage of football to the next level by delivering top Serie A action for the fans.” said Danny Menken, Group Managing Director, ELEVEN SPORTS. “We are looking forward to working in partnership with Serie A to help them reach and grow their fan-base across Italy by providing access to the biggest and best teams and players at an affordable price.”

Italy became ELEVEN SPORTS’ seventh market when the company acquired national OTT platform Sportube in May 2017. Since the acquisition, a new platform has been launched featuring modern and dynamic graphics and a more intuitive, user-friendly interface that makes navigation easier and faster.

Founded in 2010, Sportube was the first Italian OTT service dedicated to sport. Other rights currently carried on the platform include LIVE coverage of the top Volleyball League, Lega Volley Serie A; Italy’s top waterpolo league; domestic and international fencing; Italy’s 162 team amateur football leagues; the Italian Badminton Championship and a wide offering of motorsport including Superbike, Motocross, Enduro, Italian Rally Championship and the Campionato italiano di velocità – Italy’s premier motorcycle championship.

The platform will be known as Sportube, an ELEVEN SPORTS Company, until a full re-branding process is completed later this year.
