DI FRANCESCO PLEASED AS TOUR COMES TO AN END

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco expressed a quiet satisfaction with the performances during the International Champions Cup, as Roma finished their participation with a 1-1 draw with Juventus on Sunday evening. The result at Gillette Stadium meant the Giallorossi started and finished the competition with draws (the first coming against Paris Saint-Germain), with a victory over Tottenham Hotspur coming in between. And Di Francesco believes there are plenty of positives for him to work with heading into the remainder of pre-season.

"This evening we started very well, we created a couple of good chances, knowing that Juve were very dangerous as well," Di Francesco said. "After a while, however, we lowered the intensity a bit, and lacked a bit of spark. But I'm glad that we were focused on the game until the end, this is the most important aspect. By the end the players had gathered themselves and were playing with more vigour."

The boss was asked if he took more positives than negatives from the overall experience.

"I would say that the glass is half full because there are some positive things, even if there have been other things we could do much better," he said. "But we are at the end of July, I'm happy with overall growth but I still have a lot of expectations from this team."
