"CHARITY FOOD": NAPOLI TO DISTRIBUTE 32 TONNES TO 1000 FAMILIES

SSC Napoli is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative called Charity Food that will see 32 tonnes of food distributed to 1000 families in the local area.

Head of Operations Alessandro Formisano outlined the scheme – which seeks to provide relief to some of the most needy families during the COVID-19 emergency – as he spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss on Thursday.

“We've given a lot of thought to how we can do something useful to help people in need in these difficult times,” Formisano explained. “After our Easter Egg initiative for hospitals, we wanted to go a step further so we called on our sponsors, especially those in the food and beverage sector, to set up Charity Food.

“We've managed to collect 32 tonnes of food, which will be divided into 1000 packages of 32 kilos each to be handed out to families.

“I would like to stress the distribution process we have adopted because the packages will not be given out randomly but via 21 carefully identified groups – 12 local voluntary associations and nine deaneries and parishes including the Nisida juvenile detention centre.

"We have worked transparently and with near-military precision to ensure we can cover as wide an area as possible and support the families who need it most.”
