ANCELOTTI: "WE NEEDED TO TAKE OUR CHANCES"
Carlo Ancelotti spoke in the post-match press conference folowing the Europa League match between Napoli and Arsenal.
"We needed to take our chances – we didn’t do that and at this level you get punished. At 0-0 we had two chances: one for Jose Callejon and another for Arek Milik. If we score in that spell, it completely changes the tone of the game. Unfortunately, we failed to score and then they did, which ended the contest. It’s a shame because we were in the game in the first half-hour and created goal-scoring opportunities."
Meanwhile, as for his side’s future, he said: "Now we need to consolidate second spot and look forward to next year. We’ve got solid foundations to plan and strengthen the squad. We’re in a good place. There will always be criticism in football, but I remain calm. We know what we want to do. We’ve integrated excellent young players and we’ll do more to make this team even more competitive. There’s harmony here and we’ll all work together."
