ANCELOTTI: "WE HAD THE CHANCES TO WIN"

Napoli's coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke in his post-match press conference after the 1-1 draw vs.  SPAL in Ferrara on Sunday.

I’m disappointed with the outcome of the game, but I can’t criticise the team for the performance,” said Ancelotti after the game. “The players showed that they’re in good form and that they weren’t tired from playing lots of games, because we kept pushing until the end.

Ancelotti also stressed that his team created plenty of chances to win the game and bemoaned the Azzurri’s misfortune in front of goal: “We hit the woodwork and there were two or three shots that were very close. The goalkeeper made at least two great saves. If we keep playing like that, the results will come. We weren’t very lucky today. It was hard to find the space but we did well to get more width to the play and work a number of shots.”

The coach went on to look ahead to Wednesday’s clash against Atalanta: “As I’ve said, I’m satisfied with the performance. The team is in good shape and needs to keep going. We have a big game against Atalanta on Wednesday and we need to look forward, work hard and show belief.
