ANCELOTTI: "FOCUSE SOLELY ON TOMORROW"
Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that everyone at Napoli is focused solely and exclusively on Tuesday’s match against RB Salzburg at the Stadio San Paolo, where the Azzurri can take a big step towards qualification for the knock-out stages of the Champions League.
“We’re focused solely on tomorrow’s game – the rest is just details,” said the Napoli coach in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday. “We want to achieve an important milestone and qualify for the Round of 16. That’s the news of the day for me. All of our energy is focused on the objective tomorrow, then we’ll see what we can achieve in Europe. Qualifying from the group is hugely important. I hope the San Paolo gets behind us too because the fans know their support can be decisive.”
“We’ve lacked consistency. We’ve achieved very high levels of performance over the first few months, but we’ve not always been able to replicate those. I think the only really disappointing match that was a failure was the Roma game, because our level of intensity was too low and we never had control of the game."
"We saw how good Salzburg are in the first game. It’ll be a tough game but it’s important. We’re all concentrating on producing a top performance.”
