UEFA Europa League

ANCELOTTI: "COURAGE, INTELLIGENCE AND HEART"

Carlo Ancelotti spoke in the pre-match press conference on the eve of Napoli-Arsenal. the second leg of the UEFA Europa League Quarter-finals. The Azzurri coach demanded an improved showing from his players in their bid to reach the semi-final: "There are three components I’m demanding from the team: courage, which I saw little of in the first leg, particularly at the beginning; the intelligence that we did see in the second half in England; and heart, which is what we’ll put into our performance as well as a healthy dose of intensity."

About the formation: "Playing with the three forwards is a possibility, but we’ll need balance, including in attack. I expect to see courage but also character. We need to press forward but we’ll need to be compact in each area of the pitch."

ON the match: "We want to be in the game until the very end, and beyond that if need be. We need to play to our full potential. We cannot be too frenzied in trying to get a goal. We need to stay in the game and try to turn the result around."

On the the win at the Bentegodi: "For sure the win over Chievo brought a smile back, relaxed us and helped us shake off some negativity ahead of tomorrow. Winning helps you to keep winning."
