ALLAN: "WE WANT TO FINISH THE SEASON STRONGLY"
Allan has told Radio Kiss Kiss that Napoli are focusing on finishing the Serie A TIM campaign strongly as they attempt to steal the crown of champions of Italy from Juventus.
"There are nine matches left to go and we want to perform well in all of them," said the Brazilian on Thursday. "We’ve done very well so far – I think we’ve had an amazing season. We need to keep going and we need to improve on the things we’ve slipped up on recently."
The midfielder stressed that hard work is the only way to keep Napoli’s title hopes alive.
"Our secret is hard work and that’s how we can keep getting better," he said. "We bounced back from a difficult situation by beating Genoa and we’re back to within touching distance of Juventus now. We’re going to keep battling until the end."
Napoli take on Juventus on 22 April in what promises to be a scintillating affair, but Allan insisted that the Partenopei are focusing on the here and now.
"It’s a long way off still," he said. "We have other games before the Juventus match that are worth just as much, because there are three points up for grabs in all of them. We have another tough game against Sassuolo after the international break. It could be a vital match because we’re entering the season finale and it’s a period when every point counts."
Allan also spoke about his new contract, which was signed a few weeks ago.
"I’m pleased to have extended my contract with Napoli because I love it here – my family is happy and enjoys living in this wonderful city. I can guarantee that I’ll give 100% and a little bit more for this club. I hope to be able to make our fans very happy…".
